Our Recommendations for Tenerife 😊
We returned about a week ago from an amazing 10-day trip to Tenerife, which included celebrating a 30th birthday and an engagement. Here are some of our top recommendations:
Accommodation and Itinerary:
We were two adults without children. We spent 3 nights in Santa Cruz, 2 nights in Puerto de la Cruz (Christmas), and another 2 nights in the southern region.
Tenerife is incredibly unique; we highly recommend not limiting yourself to just one side of the island. Experience both the north and the south to appreciate their distinct differences. The weather was slightly rainy for the first two days, but most of the time, it was pleasantly mild (light jacket and short-sleeve shirt).
Transportation:
We rented a car from Canarias through Booking. They are not directly at the terminal exit, so getting to them was a bit tricky, but we managed, and their service was great. In our opinion, a car is essential to fully experience the island as public transportation isn’t very good, and Uber isn’t available.

Nature:
-
We visited both the Anaga Forest (rainforest) and the reserve below the Teide volcano (unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow us to take the cable car). Both places are incredibly unique, and we recommend dedicating at least half a day to each.

Restaurants:
-
Osteria Italiana Nannare: My partner booked this restaurant in advance for the day he planned to propose. The owners are a charming Italian couple, the restaurant is very homey, the food is delicious, and it’s worth visiting just for the friendly and generous service. Oh, and the amazing view from the restaurant! (Convenient parking nearby).
-
Brunelli’s: It’s recommended to book in advance! Parking is a bit tricky because the area is busy (right next to Loro Park). The meat and service are exceptional, and again, the view is stunning!
-
Ole Verde Coffee Brunch: A lovely café we visited on our last day on the island. Friendly service, tasty food, and a very diverse and fun menu—pancakes, omelets, coffee, and various shakes.

-
Attractions:
Siam Park: My partner loves water parks, and we had a great time. The park is pleasant and large enough to avoid feeling crowded. We did buy tickets in advance but didn’t buy the Fast Pass and didn’t feel we needed it. Plan for a full day at the park!
-
Bodegas Monje Winery: We arrived in the morning and booked a tour with tastings. The tour was charming and very well-organized, with delicious wine and snacks, and amazing views. There is also a restaurant where you can have brunch; we didn’t eat there, but it looked tasty.
-
Accommodation:
-
Precise Resort Puerto de la Cruz: We booked through Booking. Make sure to book an executive room because the standard room we initially booked didn’t look like the pictures (we explained this at the reception, and they upgraded us). The service was excellent, with 3 pools, a tennis court, mini golf, and a gym. We spent our 2 Christmas nights there, and it was very relaxing.

Scenic Point:
-
El Caleton: An amazing scenic point with a slightly winding road, but drive slowly, and it’s worth it.
